Today was a beautiful day in South Texas. the weather today was in the high 40's after 3pm. This was our opportunity to take advantage of the only sunlight till Sunday afternoon. There was only four brave souls on today's chilly ride. Surge, Eric, Juan "Juanito", and myself. We had to help Juan prepare for his huge race in Castroville so i wasn't going to let him take to much of an easy day. I know that i have slacked off for the past couple of months but, these past two weeks i have been making an effort of riding and running everyday putting is some for of exercise for at least 45min a day doing so i feel so much stronger and i am able to push myself to the brink of 195pbm. On today's fast ride every time i was up in front leading the pack i wanted to at least try to make them hurt. I say try because everybody in that group are wayyyyy better than me and i just want to be half the riders they are. They all have their titles. Surge is the Speed demon, and Eric is our Clysdale beast, and Juan........who knows what he is but he is a very seasoned athlete. I would try my absolute best to pull as fast and as strong as i could. I feel so much stronger pulling I was able to hit 29mph going northboud for over 20sec i was stoked! what made my self confidence go up more was that Juan said that I have gotten stronger. when we were almost back to our vehicles i tried a last ditch effort to break my max mph for the day. I straddled the saddle and just gave it my all. I kept looking at my speedometer as it read 27.....29.......33.....35....and then 36. That was the fastest i ever hit on a valley flat : ). Overall today was an amazing ride!
